Anatomy of a Broadway Score

In this 3-part course, we’ll examine the pieces of a Broadway score. What are the different types of songs a composer might choose to propel the action and interrogate the characters? How does a creator choose whether a certain moment requires a solo, or a duet, or a group number? What about style and tone? Over the past 80-100 years, Broadway composers have found every possible musical solution for our entertainment and enjoyment.
