The Hidden History of the Jungle Prada Site

February 5 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

$25

We will journey through 1,000 years of Tampa Bay history during this course exploring the Jungle Prada Site in St. Petersburg. Part of an American Indian village along Boca Ciega Bay for hundreds of years, the Jungle Prada Site is also frequently recognized as the landing place of Spanish conquistadors Panfilo de Narvaez and Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. Join David Anderson, who grew up at the site, for a discussion about the lives of the Tocobaga people, their first contact with Europeans, and the colorful characters who have shaped the Jungle Prada area over the last 200 years.
