Outdoor Painting of Florida Art

Previous pastels experience required. Learn to paint landscapes and plants directly by observing nature outdoors using the beautiful Eckerd College campus as the studio. Painting “in open air” or “plein air” painting was practiced by French Impressionists painters who wanted to capture the true essence of landscapes and subjects. Come and have fun discovering how incorporating natural light, colour and movement in your artwork can make your paintings come alive. This is a pastel class and the teacher will supply the materials for the first two classes. Students are welcome to bring their own supplies if they already have pastels.
