Gateway to Argentina: Eckerd Explores Buenos Aires
10 Days in the city called the Paris of South America with our partner institution Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA).

This trip will be an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating culture, history and natural beauty of Buenos Aires. With our partner institution, Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), you will have a rare opportunity to hear from experts on Argentinian politics, history, economics, and global topics. UCA staff will lead us to see the top sights and help us understand the context. We will also take three full-day excursions away from the city that include a visit to a working ranch complete with authentic gauchos where we will be treated to a memorable asada or bar-b-que feast, a boat ride to Colonia del Sacramento, an historic Portuguese settlement in Uruguay, and a trip to Tigre, a river delta town!
Bring your dancing shoes because we will have a tango lesson and enjoy the nightlife only found in Buenos Aires, and take in a theatrical performance!
A typical day may have us meeting at the UCA campus after breakfast to hear a presentation, followed by a tour that correlates to the topic. As an example: a talk entitled Argentine History through Eva Peron followed by a tour of the Museo Evita.
Our days in Buenos Aires will be spent together and we will travel by city metro or will be walking. Everyone will be provided a SUBE metro card, for easy access to the train. Staff will be with you throughout the day.
We will explore outdoor neighborhood markets such as those in San Telmo, Recoleta, and Mataderos and will hear about their history and importance to the community, and we will enjoy coffee in historic cafes together.
Itinerary details are still being finalized, but please know that our days will be packed with opportunities to experience the culture and history of this amazing city out in the city and among the locals.

Registration
Cost is $3,700 per person double occupancy (add $500 for single supplement) and does not include airfare, but does include almost everything else, including: high-end accommodations in a modern, city-center hotel with WiFi, almost all of your meals, city transportation, three excursions, lectures, entrance fees to various museums and activities, an evening performance, and more.
You will have the option of paying for registration in full or making a refundable deposit or partial payment (minimum of $500.) Should you wish to make a deposit please keep in mind that all balances must be paid in full by September 6, 2024. Be sure to review the refund policy found on the Course page.
