Introduction to the History of the Djembe Hand Drum

For a joy filled, culturally rich, spiritually uplifting, physically rewarding and community building experience, learn about traditional African rhythms on the djembe hand drum. The regions in West Africa in which the rhythms originated and their purpose and significance to everyday village life will be explained. This introductory class is designed for beginners of all ages and given the nature of the music, experienced djembe players are welcome too!
