Exploring Florida’s Historic African American Homes

From slaves to millionaires, those from all walks of life resided in cabins, homes, and stately mansions, and each residence examined reflects their lives. In this course, you’ll learn about the rich history of African Americans who contributed to the advancement of our state and nation, including Mary McLeod Bethune, A.L. Lewis, and D.A. Dorsey. Their residences embody their humanity as well the legacies of their former owners. Bring your interest to this illustrated lecture and discussion class.
